It seems like another life when we think about our time as adolescents - it is about half a century ago, so it was another life. As young men the stigma of having poor complexion resulted in a serious psychological factor. Low self esteem and apprehension in our character became a real issue. It was if the last thing that we thought of ourselves was that we were charismatic. The effects were far reaching causing a great deal of emotion and depression. Back then there were no acne cure treatments as the condition was not fully understood. So we struggled for those years in high school when a flare up caused embarrassment and a general lack of personal confidence. For myself and my close friends we were fortunate to not have severe acne and we managed to get through those difficult times.
